We all wear some kind of disguise from time to time. What we need to do is stop hiding our true selves, especially to ourselves.
Christina Aguillera’s song “Reflections,” puts it best. “…If I wear a mask, I can fool the world, but I cannot fool myself. Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me, when will my reflection show who I am inside…”
Sometimes you can appear strong and confident on the outside, yet can feel small and insecure on the inside. It is important to be first true to yourself and discover what it is you would like to achieve from life. Set your goals at the pace you feel comfortable to achieve them successfully. Sometimes simply finishing the race can provide you with more satisfaction than trying to win the race. You’ll learn more, achieve more, and hurt less in the end.
Stop wearing your mask and reveal yourself to yourself.
