Everyday beauty

It is important to look for beauty in the everyday. It is important to find at least one thing you are grateful for everyday. It could be watching a child playing make believe. It could be working alongside your spouse on a project and having a bit of fun together. It could be counting birds in the tree. It could be watching big fluffy snowflakes fall from the sky. It could be looking up at the magnificent night sky.

Whatever it is, find at least one thing in your day to be grateful for.

Life is beautiful. Like the shimmer of the moon on the fresh fallen snow. Find your glow and let it shine for all to see.

Something Wonderful!

We were driving through the Crowsnest Pass the other day on our way home from vacation, when my husband spotted this sign on the side of the highway. It said “Always believe something wonderful is about to happen”  and had arrows pointing to either side of the sign. For my friends who have never been through the Crowsnest Pass, it is a beautiful scenic drive through the Canadian Rockies through southern Alberta and British Columbia. The something wonderful the sign was referring to was the magnificent Rockies.

Take time to enjoy the scenery in life. You never know when “something wonderful” may happen.

Have an awesome week my friends!

That don’t impress me much – Shania Twain

Who are we trying to impress. Each day we wake up worried about what the world is going to think of us. People fret about what they look like, what they smell like, and what the person next to them thinks about them. Do people not realize that a constant worry produces stress in our bodies? Those with low stress levels tend to live longer and do not need to rely on all the cosmetic treatments bombarding us today. Cosmetic treatments only fix the problem on the surface. To truly fix the problem on the surface; you need to reach down in your soul and figure out who you truly are. We are all beautiful in our own way. Even the person who we deem to be the ugliest has a sense of beauty around them. Beauty is not just physical it can be an inner beauty as well.

We have been taught that everyone was created equal; that God fashioned us in the image of Himself. Nelson Mandela wrote, “It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us the most…As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Let’s stop living in a state of fear and worry. Instead choose a life of love and gratitude. Become comfortable with yourself and live each day to your absolute best. Treat everyone with respect and the world will be a happier place. It only takes one stone to start a ripple in a pond; let’s keep that ripple going.
